So this is a brief post just to throw out an idea. Realised that this seems obvious with the advent of lists but here goes.

The idea? Twitter should integrate a new tagging system that allows you to engage with groups of people. Similar to the privacy tools on Facebook or Google which let you choose the audience to broadcast to. It can be based on lists or it could be managed by members of that group.

A name for it … ‘Flocks’ , hardly unique, taken from the phrase, “birds of a feather flock together”.

I’m curios as to why such a feature hasn’t found it’s way into the works, as a native feature within Twitter. Third party solutions frankly take away from the convenience and speed of Twitter.

The aim is to make it easier to talk to multiple people or groups of people and avoid what’s usually a tedious process of tagging several people as shown below.
